Hier j’ai fait ma première sortie de l’année à Mud Lake…vu qu’il y avait eu des rapports d'un ours noir dans le secteur, j'ai décidé de ne pas aller trop tôt…je ne voulais pas être sur le menu pour le petit déjeuner…quand je suis arrivé au site, vers 8 h 00 il y avait beaucoup plus de voitures qu'habituellement…je me suis demandé pourquoi, jusqu'à ce qu’une personne me dise qu’il y avait deux Grands-ducs d’Amérique qui élevait une petite famille, 2 poussins, dans un nid dans le haut d'un arbre mort… lorsque je suis arrivé au site, il y avait environ 20 photographes…ma lentille de 600mm paraissait un peu petite, mais l’opportunité était superbe.
Yesterday I went for my first outing to Mud Lake this year...As there had been reports of a black bear in the area, I decided not to go too early...figured I didn't want to be on the menu for breakfast...so I got there around 8 AM...when I arrived at the site, there were more cars than I had ever seen there before...couldn't figure out why until someone told me there was a 2 Great Horned Owls raising 2 chicks in a nest up a dead tree...by the time I got to the site, there must have been about 20 photogs at the base of the tree...and my 600mm lense looked small...but it made for some pretty good shots..
